(1) Collagen in the skin, bones, ligaments and tendons of animals, increases the reserves of human collagen, which leads to significant health benefits below. It is made almost entirely of protein (98 to 99%). Collagen is rich in vital amino acids, although it does not contain all the essential amino acids, making it an incomplete protein. The amino acids that it is provided though are particularly important for health, in particular glycine, but also other fundamental amino acids such as Proline, Glutamic acid and Lysine. (2) Collagen is Paleo! Our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate much more collagen than we do today.
